I did take some photos on the collection day last Sunday (30 Aug), Jeff has copies but not you Brenden unless Jeff passed them on. A shame it was not a hot day like today (8 Sep)
Did you get any local paper publicity?.
This site is a good idea, I hope we find enough silver surfers to share it with!
Emma and her children Tom and Jess are fine, back to school for the kids. She is having problems with her internet connection so may be silent for a while.

hi Denis, glad you all got home ok, say hi to Emma Jess and Tom. yes the weather has been better since last sunday ah!!! well i am suffering with cold now so i cant enjoy the weather!! i am speeking to the trust thursday about the local paper, as we have a meeting with them, maybe they can get a better deal, as i dont want to wast the money we have raised!!! Silver surfers thats a cool name,yes i have been telling people about the site so maybe in time they will get silver surfing!! I have got phots from Jeff before he left, i have not had time to put all pictures on this site, but did you see the group photo under funraising day????

Thanks for the prompt response Brenden. I had missed the “Fundraising” heading at the top of the site, and now have had a look thanks. I hope you can get some free space in the local paper, – the ones round here are always looking for news items, especially if it has a photo. Good luck with that anyway, and I hope you soon shake off your cold.

Hi Brenden,
We hear your weather down there is now fantastic, it must be us that are jinxed. To all other readers of this blog, we have just returned from having a fantastic 2 week break at Albany Lodge and participated in the collection day. What a fabulous day that was despite the weather we had so many laughs. Hope this can be repeated next year. It was also great to see old friends like Denis and his family, Sylvia and Derek and of course the lovely Katherine. We also made some new friends that we hope will keep in touch. Although I too am a Silver Surfer I am also a Silver Surfer Tutor It really is great to help teach some people in their 80’s to use a computer.
Hopefully see you at the Tinsel and Turkey.

Just recovering from our first visit to Albany Lodge, cracked ribs from too much laughter (shouldn’t be allowed). Hoping to meet some of our new chums on this forum, will have to poke them with a stick to wake them up.

Hi Brenden and co,
I recently completed 6 days on the Wainwright Coast to Coast walk. I covered the section between Reeth and Robin Hoods Bay, 80+ miles I think. I was proud to wear the Albany Lodge tea shirt on some days and it did arouse interest, so I was able to sound the praises for your wonderful service for cancer patitents and carers. I walked with Margaret’s sister and her husband. They are both younger than me, and took quite a lot of photos, whereas my camera got the elbow about Day 2, I was trying to cut out carrying anything that was not essential. If they have a photo featuring the T-shirt I will pass it on to you. We had a good spell of weather for the walk, with scarcely any rain which would have been the biggest bugbear.

I finally managed to access FACEBOOK, and seem to have welcomed an avalanche of “Friends” and messages. All rather confusing really…. But I saw enough to see the photos you have added featuring me and THE shirt, thank you. Incidentally, the walk was from Reeth to Robin Hoods Bay and is nearer 90 miles than 20! It took 6 days.
I hope you are keeping busy and honing up all the skills for the Turkey and Tinsel breaks.
It was a T & T that Margaret and I attended on our first visit to you, 2 yrs ago in Dec.
It was a great break, so enjoyable, and featured all of the good things we associate with Albany Lodge. I am sure it will be the same shortly in the run up to Christmas.

Since we last saw you we have been to far away places sunning ourselves. We spent 2 glorious weeks in Tenerife. We are now looking forward to being with you all again 2 weeks today, and seeing and meeting old and hopefully new friends.

Sorry not been in touch for a while, hope you and the gang are well. We hope to get down to see you all soon. How’s the things on the wish list going anything else we can contribute towards? Roy hasn’t been that good from the start of the year and I fullfilled one of my wishes and went to New Zealand to see some of my dad’s family. It was out of this world.
Make sure room No. 4 is free at the end of may for a weekend.

Well good for you visiting New Zealand is always a great thing to fullfil your dreams! ah, well ive been busy to as i now have a baby daughter now 8 weeks old and she is keeping me busy!! ha ha, yes the wish list is going well thank you, we had another street collection last week over two days and raised £1300 with alot of help from other guests too. we are trying to get new mini fridges and safes for all the rooms, i will tell you more when we see you in may, so ring up soon to book Room 4, but i think you should be ok. its great to hear from you both again, look forwards to seeing you both again! i think!!! ha ha, take care. I will try and find a bookers for the wine, i was suposed to be going to jersey for 3 days this weekend but we have cancelled till May hoping the volcanic dust will have gone by then.
I took the leaflets ect to Christies hospital on monday and they were very interested, my oncology nurse said she had never heard of you so she said she would put the info on the notice boards, so heres hoping you get more custommers. Love to all Fay

all oil has pretty much the same number of calories but if you choose one that can be heated to a higher temp less will be absorbed by the food. peanut oil is a good choice.

Someone replied to one of “my” posts and said that the new Savages were “sweet”. I’ll have to take your word for that. I have a couple of them at the house and need to use them a lot more often. Where can I download cool enough theme for WP? There are very cool themes, but sometimes limited to set up. I tried recent versions of Designora, My Office, Jarrah, Rockwell, also I have tried also BAsense – simple, but made for adsense. Very rarely I can see something cool but rich in settings.
